The Masked Man

Ann Finch is grieving the recent death of her husband, who was a prominent psychiatrist in Hartford, Connecticut. She is angry because the police have dismissed his death as a hunting accident. She believes there may be more behind his apparent accidental shooting in the woods behind their home.

As she prepares a memory garden for her husband in her backyard, she sees something unusual in the woods. It is a masked man running and he is dragging something behind him. The masked man doesn't appear to see Ann, and he stops and begins to dig. Ann believes he buries something in the woods.

Unsure of what to do, Ann calls her husband's fellow psychiatrist and business partner, Ron Doran. Ron convinces Ann to call the detective who was investigating her husband's shooting, since the recent incident was not far from the site of the shooting.

The detectives initially dismiss the incident as an unrelated prank, but quickly change their minds after Ann convinces them to dig up the item that was buried. The detectives find a mysterious message in a metal box that could make everyone a suspect.
